Stationary Engineers. Stationary Engineers will be employed at North Bay Power Plant and at Xxxxxxxxx if required for operational or safety reasons and if so required their duties shall include looking after the air compressor during their shifts.
Stationary Engineers. The regular work week for Stationary Engineers shall be provided for in LOA # 8. Two consecutive days in each work week are allowed off, except as provided for in Letter #8, and for all purposes, shall be considered additional shifts.
Stationary Engineers. Stationary Engineerswill work the following: to Over the shift cycle to Over the shift cycle The working hours may be modified in order to comply with special requirements. It is understood that during the term of this agreement any changes under this paragraph will be made only after agreement with the union. It is understood, however, that nothing in this agreement shall be construed or inter- preted to be a guarantee by the company of a specified number of hours of work or shifts per day or days of weekend as well as provid- ing annual, weekly or daily guarantee wages. This clause will not preclude the company from having employees work longer voluntary hours than specified above, provided that the overtime provision is observed.
Stationary Engineers. The regular work week for Stationary Engineers will be 1 2-hour shifts, seven days per week. The following describes how relevant provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement will impact the Stationary Engineers:
Stationary Engineers. Due to the statutory requirements concerning the operation of the boilerhouse department, the parties agree that it is mandatory for stationary engineers to work overtime when requested to do so by the Company. It is further agreed that the Company will act promptly to fill permanent vacancies occurring in the boilerhouse department. Stationary engineers will continue to perform work both inside and outside of the boilerhouse department which has been performed by members of such classification in the past or is required by law.
Stationary Engineers. The Union acknowledges that the Company shall have the right to establish a continuous shift schedule in the following production operations: Ex- truding, Forming, Printing and Stationary Engineers. the outside. Such employees on a continuous shift schedule required to work on a Saturday or Sunday will be paid time and one-half.
Stationary Engineers. Stationary Engineers will be employed at North Bay Power Plant and at Englehart if required for operational or safety reasons and if so required their duties shall include looking after the air compressor during their shifts. Current active employees who are members of CAW Local 103 will notwithstanding the provisions of any agreement, have their seniority protected in their former classification and if unable to hold work in Agreement #12, will revert to their former classification. SPW’s shall only be eligible to work overtime in the event that the Xxxxxx or Electricians respective overtime lists are exhausted. SPW shall be evaluated at least quarterly in the first year as an SPW using the current apprenticeship evaluation form. These evaluation forms shall be reviewed by the Joint Apprenticeship Committee. The Committee may recommend discipline and/or cancellation of an SPW entrance into the classification at any time for cause such as:
Stationary Engineers. 20.13 It is the Company's intention to provide opportunity for employees in the classifications of Stationary Engineer, and others who are required by law to have Government certificates, to improve their qualifications in order that they may have the opportunity to advance in their respective classifications.
20.14 Therefore the Company will provide training programs consisting of 'on the job' training combined with appropriate study courses for up to the number of such employees which it requires to be trained at any time.
20.15 Any employee in the classifications referred to in Section 20.13 hereof who desires to participate in such a training program may make application to register as a trainee with the Company's Training Supervisor. Such applicants as may be selected will be informed as to the appropriate study course or courses that they must take, the nature of any such course or courses being dependent upon any prior training which may have been taken by the successful applicant. In selecting applicants the Company will give preference to their lengths of continuous service provided they have sufficient aptitude, knowledge or education to take the training.
20.16 The Company will upon the successful completion of any Company approved study course by an employee reimburse such employee for the cost of such course provided that at the time of completion of the course the employee shall be in the employ of the Company, unless he shall at such time have been laid off by the Company for lack of work.
Stationary Engineers. The regular work week for Stationary Engineers shall consist of five (5) shifts, Monday to Sunday inclusive. Two consecutive days in each work week are allowed off, except as provided for in Letter and for all purposes, shall be considered 6th and 7th shifts, in that order.
Stationary Engineers. During these negotiations management and union have had prolonged discussion about the responsibilities of stationary engineers. Both parties have agreed to the following: Stationary engineers will be able to maintain all equipment, systems and utilities, within the four walls of the powerhouse, electrical substations, cooling towers and powerhouse equipment in utility monitors. The definition of maintain is as follows: Direct replacement of components. For example: pumps; servos; electric motors; valves; etc. Replacement of components with the latest technology. The intent is to allow for the replacement of obsolete components. Stationary engineer can in the performance of their duties install conduit, wiring and piping within the powerhouses, electrical substations, cooling towers, and powerhouse equipment in utility monitors. The intent is to allow the repair of the conduit wiring and piping, not its complete replacement installation. Where layout work is required, the work will be performed by the maintenance classifications. CMM-Departments, Overtime Groups, Cross Training and Sub-Contract Support Stationary engineer is responsible for the maintenance and overhaul of air compressors within the powerhouses. Stationary engineers will not be responsible for the installation of new systems. Examples: Boilers; Chillers; Air Compressors; Transformers; Cooling Towers; Fuel Tank; etc.
