Statutory and Floater Holidays. (1) Days designated as Holidays shall be as follows: New Year’s Day Labour Day Good Friday Thanksgiving Day Victoria Day Remembrance Day Canada Day Christmas Day Civic Holiday Two (2) Floater Holidays (2) The two Floater Holidays (which shall be determined in November of each year for the following year) will be designated separately for Day and Shift Employees. (3) In no case shall the selection of any of the Floater Holidays result in a work week of less than three (3) days, or a weekend of more than four days during the period April 1 to November 1 of each year. (4) Day Employees may opt to select different Floater Holidays than those selected in accordance with Article 11.01(2). (5) Until further notice, Twelve-Hour Shift Employees have selected February 14 and March 17 as their designated Floater Holidays in accordance with Article 11.01(2). (6) For the purposes of time off and payment, the designated Holidays will be observed on the traditional calendar date or date decreed by statute, except that Day Employees with Saturday and Sunday and one Friday in a four (4) week cycle, will be given any designated holiday that falls on any one of such days, on the Monday immediately following or the Friday immediately preceding the traditional calendar date for the holiday, as applicable. In instances where the Friday is already a day off, the holiday will be observed on the Monday immediately following. (7) Those employees scheduled but not required to work a designated Holiday will be given forty eight (48) hours personal notice or allowed to work the Holiday.
