Stock Option Agreements Sample Clauses
A Stock Option Agreement is a legal document that grants an individual, typically an employee or contractor, the right to purchase a specified number of company shares at a predetermined price within a set timeframe. These agreements outline the terms under which options vest, the exercise price, and any conditions for exercising the options, such as continued employment or achievement of performance milestones. The core practical function of a Stock Option Agreement is to incentivize and retain key personnel by aligning their interests with the company's success, while also clearly defining the rights and obligations related to stock options.
