Student Liability. The student is responsible for the condition of the assigned room and all furnishings, and shall reimburse the University for all damages to or loss of these furnishings beyond ordinary wear and tear. Damages to the common areas may be charged to all residents in that area.
Student Liability a. The student is responsible for the condition and proper care of the accommodations assigned. The student shall reimburse the University for all losses of University owned or operated property or damages beyond normal wear and tear, as interpreted by the University, within the assigned accommodations. The student is responsible for submitting and following up on requests for maintenance (Fix It requests) in a timely manner and/or notifying residence hall staff when emergency maintenance is required. The student is responsible for cleaning the room and bathroom of the assigned accommodations and shall be responsible for any cleaning charges assessed. The student shall be subject to a prorated share of the cost of losses of University property in or damage to common areas within the residence hall where the individual responsible cannot be identified.
Student Liability. Resident will work cooperatively with University to maintain a safe and secure environment where individuals accept responsibility for inappropriate behaviors. Resident is expected to report all incidents of inappropriate behavior. If individual liability cannot be determined, damages become the shared responsibility of roommate/suitemate/floormates. Resident will reimburse Housing & Residence Life for loss or damage of University property beyond ordinary wear and tear (including leaving said rooms or furnishings in an unsanitary or hazardous condition) caused by Resident or his or her guests. Resident may invite guests and will be responsible for his or her guest’s behavior. Resident will ensure that guests are informed of and abide by all rules of the UCM Housing and Residence Life Handbook and the terms outlined in this Contract.
Student Liability. The Student agrees to accept responsibility and be held accountable for their actions, for proper use and care of the residence hall, dining facilities, assigned space, common areas, and all other University property, and for the actions of their guest(s). The host should ensure that guests comply with all University Policies and Residence Hall Regulations. The residence hall space assigned to the Student by the University must be the Student's primary place of residence. In cases where an upper division student does not maintain their primary residence in the University-assigned space, the University may reassign that space to another student, and the student will remain bound by the Contract. Subleasing of space is prohibited. In cases where a first-year student does not maintain their primary residence in the University-assigned space and a request for release is not approved, first year students will be referred to the Admissions Office and/or Office of Student Conduct for non-compliance of UD policy requirements. Students are required to vacate, return all keys to a Residence Life & Housing in-hall staff member and remove all personal belongings from residence hall space within 24 hours of completing their last final examination or by the scheduled closing time, whichever comes first. Graduating seniors may remain in the residence halls until the time designated by Residence Life & Housing. When the University terminates the contract, students must remove all personal belongings from the residence hall space and return all keys by the designated time. Students who have been released from their Contract during the academic year must vacate their residence hall room or apartment within 48 hours of the effective date of release. When a student is granted a release, any room charges paid in excess of the applicable release fee will be credited to the Student's account. The effective date for a rebate is the date when all of the following obligations have been met: • The contract request for release has been approved or initiated by Residence Life & Housing. • All keys have been returned to the Resident Assistant or the Residence Hall Coordinator immediately after vacating the room or apartment. Failure to return these items within 48 hours of release date will result in additional fees to re-core the locks on the room and improper check out. RESIDENT will reimburse Housing & Residence Life upon receipt of notice for loss or damage to the University facility or its fixtures, furnishings or equipment beyond ordinary wear and tear (including leaving said rooms or furnishings in an unsanitary or hazardous condition) resulting from the neglect or willful act of the RESIDENT or his or her guests. RESIDENT will be responsible for his or her guest’s behavior. RESIDENT will ensure that guests are informed of and abide by all rules of the UCM Housing and Residence Life Handbook, UC Conduct Standards, and the terms outlined in this Contract.
Student Liability. 3.3.1. Clinical Placement Sites within Iowa agree to indemnify and hold Students participating in a clinical experience harmless from any and all tort claims or demands, whether groundless or otherwise, arising out of an alleged act or omission occurring within the scope of their activities under this Agreement to the same extent the Clinical Placement Site shall do so for its officers, agents, and employees, as provided under the Code of Iowa, Sections 272.27 and 670.8 (Tort Liability of Governmental Subdivisions Act) .
3.3.2. Professional liability insurance will be encouraged for all Students participating in in-state (Iowa) clinical experiences. Students, other than for those Students subject to the protections provided under Section 3.3.1 above, shall be required by University to obtain professional liability insurance while participating in an in-state clinical experience. Students participating in clinical experiences out of Iowa will be required to obtain professional liability insurance.
Student Liability. Students who violate this policy its rules of conduct may be denied bus- riding privileges. Students who harm persons or damage any school property may be suspended or expelled from school. Students may also be reported to the Police Department.

Student agrees to indemnify and save the College harm from liability, loss, or damage arising from any situation that is made or suffered on the premises by them, guests, visitors or from any carelessness, neglect, or improper conduct of any such persons. All personal property in and part of the College campus shall be at the sole risk of the student. Subject to provisions of applicable law, the College shall not be liable for damage to, or loss of property of any kind which may be lost or stolen, damaged or destroyed by circumstances beyond its control, including, but not limited to, fire, water, steam, power outage, disaster, acts of God, communicable disease outbreak, epidemic or pandemic, or otherwise, while on the College’s property, or in any storage space in the building or for any personal injury unless caused by the negligence of the College.

STUDENT shall indemnify UNIVERSITY and Heritage Property Management and shall reimburse UNIVERSITY upon receipt of notice for loss or damage to the Heritage Property Management facilities, Complexes or fixtures, furnishings or equipment beyond ordinary wear and tear (including leaving said rooms or furnishings in an unsanitary or hazardous condition) resulting from the neglect or willful act of the STUDENT or his or her guests. STUDENT will be responsible for his or her guest’s behavior. STUDENT will ensure that guests are informed of and abide by all rules of the UCM Housing and Residence Life Handbook, UC Conduct Standards, and the terms outlined in this Contract.
