Study and Examination Leave. (a) The board may approve leave without pay for pre-examination study and shall approve leave on pay for time spent sitting examinations plus necessary traveling time.
(b) The board shall grant leave on pay to principals who are awarded a prestigious scholarship or fellowship (as defined by the Secretary for Education from time to time) for the duration of the contract plus reasonable traveling time.
Study and Examination Leave. (a) Where a supervisor approves a course of study being undertaken by an employee which has direct relevance to their position, study time of ½ an hour for each 1 hour of class contact time (or equivalent for distance education) is available up to a maximum of four (4) hours per week.
(b) In addition to the study time referred to in subclause 44.0(a), additional time off may be granted for the purpose of attending examinations required in the course of study.
(c) An employee and their supervisor may negotiate reasonable flexible arrangements for study not directly relevant to their position. For example, an employee may be given approval to access flexible working hours to attend a lecture or class which falls within a work unit's core hours.

(b) In addition to the study time referred to in subclause 42.0(a) above, additional time off may be granted for the purpose of attending examinations required in the course of study.
Study and Examination Leave. An Employee will be granted up to one day paid study leave prior to an exam in an approved relevant course of study. An Employee will be granted leave with pay to attend compulsory examinations in an approved relevant course of study.
Study and Examination Leave. (1) Staff attending courses/programmes sponsored by the Polytechnic (i.e. training leading to a formal qualification) may be granted study leave of 1 working day per examinable module per academic year, capped at a maximum of 4 working days per academic year. Staff may also be granted unrecorded leave to sit for examinations.
(2) Staff attending self-sponsored courses/programmes will need to seek the approval of Director/Human Resource for consideration of the course/programme taken as one that is approved by the Polytechnic for the purpose of granting study and/or examination leave. Study leave and examination leave will be granted subject to exigencies of service.
(3) Application of examination leave is to be submitted together with a photocopy of the official timetable.
Study and Examination Leave. (a) Full time employees shall be entitled to five days paid Study and Examination Leave per annum for the purposes of attending courses and/or undertaking or preparing for examinations in a relevant course of study conducted by a recognised institution. Part time employees who work more than four shifts a fortnight shall be entitled to Study and Examination Leave in accordance with this clause on a pro rata basis. Leave entitlements pursuant to this clause shall not accumulate from year to year.
(b) Entitlement to Study and Examination Leave shall be granted for studies which are relevant to employment at the Hospital. Where the Hospital determines a special need exists for training of a particular kind it may gear the study and examination leave of employees to that end pursuant to this clause.
(c) Entitlement to Study and Examination Leave shall be taken at a time that is mutually agreed between the employer and the employee. The employer shall not unreasonably withhold approval for such leave.
Study and Examination Leave. 14.1 Full time employees shall be entitled to two days paid Study and Examination Leave per annum for the purposes of attending courses and/or undertaking or preparing for examinations in a relevant course of study conducted by a recognised institution. Part time employees who work more than an average of four shifts a fortnight over the 3 month period prior to the application for the leave shall be entitled to Study and Examination Leave in accordance with this clause on a pro rata basis. Leave entitlements pursuant to this clause shall not accumulate from year to year.
14.2 Entitlement to Study and Examination Leave shall be granted for studies, which are relevant to employment by the Employer. Where the Employer determines a special need exists for training of a particular kind it may gear the study and examination leave of employees to that end pursuant to this clause.
Study and Examination Leave. 6.1 After three months of service (unless by prior agreement with the Management Committee upon commencement of employment) a permanent employee may apply for paid study leave to a maximum of the equivalent of two weeks per year, 70 hours for a full-time employee and pro-rata for a part-time employee.
6.2 All applications for study leave shall be considered on an individual basis by the Management Committee. Consideration will be given to the relevance of the study to the employee's current position and future development within the organisation, and the impact of the leave on the employee's workplan, other team members and the service.
6.3 Study Leave may be accumulated throughout the year and taken prior to examinations provided that the maximum to be taken at any one time shall be equivalent to an employee's ordinary working week.

Where the Education Executive approves a course of study being undertaken by an Employee which has direct relevance to their position, study time of half an hour for each one hour of class contact time (or equivalent for distance education) is available up to a maximum of four (4) hours per week.
25.2. In addition to the study time referred to in clause 25.1, additional time off may be approved by the Education Executive for the purpose of attending examinations required in the course of study. This clause does not apply to Casual Employees.
