Substantial Completion Letter Sample Clauses

A Substantial Completion Letter is a formal document issued to confirm that a construction project or a specific phase of it has reached a stage where it is sufficiently complete for its intended use, even if minor work remains. Typically, this letter is provided by the contractor to the owner or architect, and it may trigger important contractual milestones such as the start of warranty periods or the release of retainage payments. Its core practical function is to clearly establish the point at which the project's primary obligations have been met, thereby reducing disputes over project status and facilitating the transition to final completion.
