Common use of Survey Datum Clause in Contracts

Survey Datum. The levels shown on the Drawings are with reference to a specific benchmark in the project area, and whose location and value are shown on the Drawings. It shall be the Contractor’s responsibility before commencing the Contract to confirm with the Engineer, the location and value of the established benchmarks. The Contractor shall establish within the project area benchmark and reference points for use during the construction work. The Engineer shall approve the location of each benchmarks and reference point.
