Common use of Suspension and Discharges Clause in Contracts

Suspension and Discharges. All suspensions and discharges will be in written form and copies will be mailed to the Union immediately upon issuance of such notices. Discharges will be preceded by a suspension during which an investigation of the incident leading to the discharge will be conducted. No employee shall be placed on suspension pending investigation status for an unreasonable period of time. An issue specifically brought by the employee to a Human Resources representative shall be responded to within seven (7) calendar days, excluding weekends. Such time line may be extended by mutual agreement.
