Common use of SUSPENSION OR ALTERATION Clause in Contracts

SUSPENSION OR ALTERATION. A. The OWNER may order the CONSULTANT in writing to suspend, delay, or interrupt performance of all or any part or the Work for a reasonable period of time as the OWNER may determine. The order shall contain the reason or reasons for issuance. B. Upon receipt of a suspension order, the CONSULTANT shall, as soon as practicable, cease performance of the Work as ordered and take immediate affirmative measures to protect such Work from loss or damage. C. The CONSULTANT specifically agrees that such suspension, interruption, or delay of the performance of the Work pursuant to this Item shall not increase the cost of performance of the Work of this Contract. D. Time of Completion of the Work may be extended to such time as the OWNER determines shall compensate for the time lost by the suspension, interruption, or delay, such determination to be set forth in writing.
