SWE Subordinate. The Section may request to become a SWE Subordinate after registering with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for an Employer Identification Number (EIN). If approved by the Society, the Section will receive a group exemption for federal income tax under the Society 501(c)3 tax exemption. To maintain this status, the section treasurer must file the appropriate forms with the IRS (990-N, 990- EZ, or 990) by November 15th of each year.
