Target Metadata. The Physical Parameters of a DataSet usually aim at one or several Targets. The Target Metadata describe these targets linked with the content of the DataSet. Their may be several Target entities for one DataSet. Each Target is described by the following metadata: TargetType Type of Observed Target - Star, Planet, Region, Feature, Exoplanet, Spacecraft... (list in Section 10.2) TargetName Name of the Observed Target - From authoritative list (IAU + lab experiment...) TargetKey Unique Target identifier, for cross reference, both in Target Metadata, and in Physical Parameter Metadata ParentTargetKey TargetKey of the parent Target The ParentTargetKey allows cross reference with the Target Metadata. This allows to nest Targets with hierarchical description as shown on Figure 4.3.
