TEMPORARY SHORING. A. Contractor shall provide all temporary shoring required for the installation of Work. Contractor assumes all responsibility for this work and shall repair any damage caused by improper supports or failure of shoring in any respect. Any provisions that are installed to assure the stability of adjacent structures, trees, roadways, or infrastructure, shall be in accordance with the plans provided by the Contractor.

TEMPORARY SHORING. (2-20-07) (Rev. 3-17-15) SP11 R02 Temporary shoring includes cantilever, braced and anchored shoring and temporary mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls. Temporary shoring does not include trench boxes. At the Contractor’s option, use any type of temporary shoring unless noted otherwise in the plans or as directed. Design and construct temporary shoring based on actual elevations and shoring dimensions in accordance with the contract and accepted submittals. Construct temporary shoring at locations shown in the plans and as directed. Temporary shoring is required to maintain traffic when a 2:1 (H:V) slope from the top of an embankment or bottom of an excavation will intersect the existing ground line less than 5 ft from the edge of pavement of an open travelway. This provision does not apply to pipe, inlet or utility installation unless noted otherwise in the plans. Positive protection includes concrete barrier and temporary guardrail. Provide positive protection for temporary shoring at locations shown in the plans and as directed. Positive protection is required if temporary shoring is located in the clear zone in accordance with the AASHTO Roadside Design Guide.
TEMPORARY SHORING. The Engineer shall provide layouts (scale 1”=100’), elevations, quantity estimate, summary of quantities, typical cross sections and structural details of retaining walls within the project limits. Approximate lengths of the retaining walls as shown on the schematic shall be listed in a Work Authorization. The Engineer shall determine if any additional walls are required and verify the need for and length of the retaining walls as shown on the schematic. The Engineer shall design for additional wall locations (including noise walls) within the projects limits, at the written request of the State’s Project Manager. If applicable, the State will provide architectural standard drawings. The “SAN ANTONIO DISTRICT AESTHETIC GUIDELINES - HILL COUNTRY REGION” standards will be provided by the State. The Engineer shall incorporate architectural standard drawings into design details (provided by the State). The specific requirements for each item are as follows:

  • Temporary Roads As necessary to attain stabilization of roadbed and fill slopes of Temporary Roads, Purchaser shall employ such measures as out- sloping, drainage dips, and water-spreading ditches.

  • Temporary Upgrade An employee in a temporary upgrade status shall have no right to grieve or arbitrate release from such temporary upgrade status.

  • Temporary Layoff The Employer may temporarily layoff an employee for up to ninety (90) days due to an unanticipated loss of funding, revenue shortfall, lack of work, shortage of material or equipment, or other unexpected or unusual reasons. An employee will normally receive seven (7) days notice of a temporary layoff.

  • Temporary Layoffs A. The Employer may initiate a temporary layoff for up to twelve (12) working days per fiscal year. Employees will be given thirty (30) days’ notice before the effective date of a temporary layoff. Employees may request alternative temporary layoff days from their manager or supervisor and any requests will be considered and approved or denied in writing. B. A temporary layoff will not affect an employee’s incremental movement, vacation and sick leave accrual rates, or seniority. C. A temporary layoff is leave without pay. An employee may not use any leave for a temporary layoff day(s).

  • Temporary Taking If the whole or any part of the Leased Property (other than the fee) or of Lessee’s interest under this Lease is condemned by any Condemnor for its temporary use or occupancy (which shall mean a period not to exceed two years), this Lease shall not terminate by reason thereof, and Lessee shall continue to pay, in the manner and at the terms herein specified, the full amounts of Base Rent and Additional Charges. In addition, Lessee shall pay Percentage Rent at a rate equal to the average Percentage Rent during the last three (3) preceding Fiscal Years (or if three (3) Fiscal Years shall not have elapsed, the average during the preceding Fiscal Years). Except only to the extent that Lessee may be prevented from so doing pursuant to the terms of the order of the Condemnor, Lessee shall continue to perform and observe all of the other terms, covenants, conditions and obligations hereof on the part of Lessee to be performed and observed, as though such Condemnation had not occurred. In the event of any Condemnation as in this Section 15.6 described, the entire amount of any Award made for such Condemnation allocable to the Term of this Lease, whether paid by way of damages, rent or otherwise, shall be paid to Lessee. Lessee covenants that upon the termination of any such period of temporary use or occupancy it will, at its sole cost and expense (subject to Lessor’s contribution as set forth below), restore the Leased Property as nearly as may be reasonably possible to the condition in which the same was immediately prior to such Condemnation, unless such period of temporary use or occupancy extends beyond the expiration of the Term, in which case Lessee shall not be required to make such restoration. If restoration is required hereunder, Lessor shall contribute to the cost of such restoration that portion of its entire Award that is specifically allocated to such restoration in the judgment or order of the court, if any, and Lessee shall fund the balance of such costs in a manner reasonably satisfactory to Lessor.

  • Temporary Work Temporary work results from replacing a faculty member on leave, or assigned to other duties, or work that is a result of a time limited contract/project.
