To Write an Examination or to Receive a Degree or Diploma. Special leave with pay to a maximum of one (1) day per subject may be granted to an employee to write an examination for an employer approved course at an accredited school or other course, provided the employee has demonstrated that the examination to be written relates to a course of study which is directly related to the employee's duties and will improve their qualifications and ability to perform those duties. Special leave with pay may also be granted to an employee for the purpose of receiving a degree or a diploma at a school, technological institute or university convocation or to receive special honor at a meeting of a professional society.
