Common use of Total and permanent disablement of the Life Assured Clause in Contracts

Total and permanent disablement of the Life Assured. If before the maturity date of the Contract and prior to the Life Assured’s reaching the TPD age specified in the (T.B. and C.) he/she shall be, as a result of injury or disease, certified to be totally disabled for a continuous period of six consecutive months from performing his/her usual occupation or any other occupation corresponding to his/her knowledge, education and social standing and in case the disablement is proved to be final and irreversible and of long term nature, the following amounts will become payable to the Contract Owner as follows: 1.1. the spouse annuity due under cover B, if any, as described under sub-paragraph 10.1.
