Traffic Interruption Restrictions. The Department reserves the right to restrict construction operations when, in the opinion of the Engineer, the continuance of the Work would seriously hinder traffic flow, be needlessly disruptive or unnecessarily inconvenience the traveling public. The Contractor shall suspend and/or reschedule any work when the Engineer deems that conditions are unfavorable for continuing the Work. Advanced notification requirements to the Contractor to suspend work will be according to the events and the time restrictions outlined below: Incident management No advanced notice required Threatening/Inclement weather 24 hours Holidays. sporting events, Three (3) calendar days unfavorable conditions If the work is suspended, the Contractor may submit a request for additional contract time as allowed under Section 108. The Department will review the request and may grant additional contract time as justified by the impact to the Contractor’s schedule. Compensation for loss of productivity, rescheduling of crews, rental of equipment or delays to the Contractor’s schedule will not be considered for payment. Additional contract time will be the only consideration granted to the Contractor.
