Training Programs, Professional Development, Conferences and Seminars. 11.1 Where an Employee is required to attend training, he/she will be compensated for travelling time and attendance time on an hour for hour basis. For other discretionary training, the Employee shall not be compensated for travelling time, but may be compensated for attendance time, subject to prior approval by the Manager, on an hour for hour basis. If in the event that a conference or seminar that an Employee is required to attend takes place outside the ordinary hours or on weekends, Employees shall be entitled to claim the equivalent time spent at the seminar or conference as time in lieu. Time in lieu will be taken in accordance with Clause 10 above. In addition to Council provided/mandated Professional Development and Training, Maternal and Child Health Nurses are entitled to paid leave to attend external Professional Development and Training in order to meet the annual mandatory registration requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), this is subject to the prior approval of the Manager.
11.2 Employee’s will be provided training in conflict resolution, dealing with aggressive and difficult customers every two years.
