Transitional Retirement Option. Eligible teachers may serve the District for one school year beyond their retirement date by participating in the Transitional Retirement Option. In order to be eligible a teacher must be: 1. Eligible for retirement under PERA rules. 2. Currently employed by the District in a minimum .5 FTE assignment. 3. In at least their second year of service to the District. 4. In good standing, not currently involved in dismissal procedures or Intensive Assistance as outlined in the Educator Effectiveness Handbook.
