Trench Excavation to be Commensurate with the Laying Progress. The work of trench excavation should be commensurate with laying and jointing of the pipe line. It should not be dug in advance for a length greater than 500 m ahead of work of laying and jointing of pipeline unless otherwise defined by the Employer’s Representative. The Contractor has to ensure the following:  safety protections as mentioned above have to be incorporated in the work process  hindrances to the public have to be minimized  the trench must not be eroded before the pipes are laid  the trench must not be filled with water when the pipes are laid  the trench must not be refilled before laying of the pipes The bed for the laying of the pipes has to be prepared according to the L-Section immediately before laying of the pipes.
