Common use of Underground Cabling Depth Clause in Contracts

Underground Cabling Depth. A. Underground electrical cables shall be buried with: 1. a minimum of 5 feet of top cover where they cross Cropland. 2. a minimum of 5 feet of top cover where they cross pastureland or other non- Cropland classified as Prime Farmland. 3. a minimum of 3 feet of top cover where they cross pastureland and other Agricultural Land not classified as Prime Farmland. 4. a minimum of 3 feet of top cover where they cross wooded/brushy land. B. Provided that the Facility Owner removes the cables during Deconstruction, underground electric cables may be installed to a minimum depth of 18 inches: 1. Within the fenced perimeter of the Facility; or 2. When buried under an access road associated with the Facility provided that the location and depth of cabling is clearly marked at the surface. C. If Underground Cables within the fenced perimeter of the Facility are installed to a minimum depth of 5 feet, they may remain in place after Deconstruction.
