Uniqueness. 1.2.1 The parties agree and recognize that Nicola Valley Institute of Technology is a unique Aboriginal post secondary institution that has a preference for hiring Aboriginal staff, teaching Aboriginal curriculum, and maintaining Aboriginal culture, values and traditions. 1.2.2 The parties further agree that where ever possible, language in the Collective Agreement will reflect the uniqueness and those values. 1.2.3 The parties also agree to create an environment that respects the dignity, rights, cultures, and beliefs of all people, and to strive for balance and harmony in all our activities with each other.
