Use of City Funds. As a condition of the receipt of CITY funds amounting to $2,000 during the CITY budget fiscal year 2021/2022, the EVENT HOLDER hereby agrees to use and expend all such funds pursuant to: A. All applicable federal, state, and local laws; and B. The use of City funds shall comply with Texas Tax Code 351.001 et. seq. and as provided by law. 1. Every expenditure must directly enhance and promote tourism and the convention and hotel industry. 2. Every expenditure must clearly fit into one of nine statutorily provided categories for the expenditure of local hotel occupancy tax revenues. a) Funding the establishment, improvement, or maintenance of a convention center or visitor information center. b) Paying the administrative costs for facilitating convention registration. c) Paying for advertising, solicitation, and promotions that attract tourists and convention delegates to the city or its vicinity. d) Expenditures that promote the arts. e) Funding historical restoration or preservation programs. f) Funding certain expenses, including promotional expenses, directly related to a sporting event within counties with a population of under 1 million. g) Funding transportation systems for tourists. h) Signage directing tourists to sights and attractions that are visited frequently by hotel guests in the municipality. Use of City Funds. A. As a condition of the receipt of City funds amounting to $1,060,000 during City budget year 2018, the Independent Agency hereby agrees to use and expend all such funds pursuant to: 1. Charter Ordinance No. 30 which states monies shall be expended for such purposes as the City Commission determines promotes, enhances, maintains, or improves the tourism, visitor, or convention business of the city; 2. The Agreement for Services between the City of Lawrence, Kansas and Explore Xxxxxxxx to Operate the Xxxxxxxx Convention and Visitors Bureau, dated January 13, 2016 (hereafter “Operations Agreement”); and 3. All applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Use of City Funds. As a condition of the receipt of City funds amounting to $95,710 during City budget year 2016, the Independent Agency hereby agrees to use and expend all such funds pursuant to: A) City of Xxxxxxxx Charter ordinance No. 33, which outlines the following uses for special alcohol and drug program funds: 1. Prevention of alcoholism and drug abuse, including but not limited to education, counseling, public informational efforts and related activities; or 2. Alcohol and drug detoxification efforts and related activities; or 3. Intervention in alcohol and drug abuse or treatment of persons who are alcoholics or drug abusers or are in danger of becoming alcoholics or drug abusers; or 4. Law enforcement, prosecution, court activities and programs, or portions thereof, related to apprehending, prosecuting, adjudicating or monitoring individuals who are alcoholics or drug abusers or are in danger of becoming alcoholics or drug abusers, including individuals who are or may be charged with violating laws related to alcohol or drug use; or 5. Education, counseling, public information efforts, and related and associated activities related to preventing drug abuse and alcohol abuse, including but not limited to efforts to encourage healthy youth and family development and related efforts which include as a partial element drug abuse and alcohol abuse education, counseling, or public information efforts; or 6. Programs, activities, or efforts related to preventing or intervening in drug abuse and alcohol abuse, including programs, activities, or efforts for which drug abuse and alcohol abuse prevention or intervention comprises a partial element of the complete program, activity or effort; or 7. Any program, activity, or effort, or a portion thereof, that the governing body determines seeks to discourage, prevent, intervene, or address issues related to alcohol or drug abuse. The appropriation of funds by the governing body for such a program, activity, or effort shall be conclusive of compliance with provisions of this ordinance, and separate findings shall not be required. B) All applicable federal, state, and local laws; and C) The application for funds, as approved and amended by the City Commission, which states: 1. The funds will be used to support salary costs for after school and out-of- school programming at fourteen Xxxxxxxx sites, and 2. The funds will be used to achieve the following program outcomes: a. Use of City Funds. As a condition of the receipt of City funds totaling $300,000 during City budget year 2017, the BTBC hereby agrees to use and expend all such funds as follows: A) Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) from the City’s General Fund will be used pursuant to the application submitted to the City from the BTBC, attached to this agreement as Exhibit A, in compliance with: 1. All applicable federal, state, and local laws; and 2. The BTBC’s bylaws, as approved and amended by the City Commission; and 3. The 2017 funding application, which state the funds will be used: a) To achieve Growth at the main Lawrence facility; b) To expand KU’s economic development impact; and c) To refine the BTBC business model B) Seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) from the City’s General Fund will be used to develop the Lawrence Life Science Incubator along with associated professional talent, specialized equipment and capital. C) Twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) from the City’s General Fund will be used to establish an Economic Development Incentive Fund for the purpose of assisting with the recruitment and retention of companies located within the BTBC Incubator or within Lawrence/Xxxxxxx County. Such funds shall be utilized in accordance with the Fund description incorporated as Exhibit B.

One key promotional item for attracting visitors to the community and informing them of the many opportunities they will encounter in Muscatine is our Muscatine Visitors’ Guide. The Visitor’ Guide had not been revised since 2015, The process for revising the guide is extensive ranging from updating the listings of the offerings of the community to producing the copy to draft review, editing and final approvals. The guide is complete and 3500 have been distributed to Iowa Visitor Centers, all Muscatine lodging locations, local attractions in Muscatine, groups visiting Muscatine such as the softball and soccer tournament, bowling tournament organizers, and additional locations. A promotional flyer was made for the June 9th & 10th Soccer Tournament showcasing several events that were happening in Muscatine that weekend. Flyers were distributed to the soccer tournament organizer. See X Development of short (15-30 sec.) videos for social media showcasing Muscatine’s Amenities is underway. To date meetings have been held with videographer and a list of proposed videos has been made. Prior to March 2017 several television commercials were created and aired on KWQC to showcase Muscatine’s amenities. The project for development and airing of these commercials continued once GMCCI agreement commenced. These commercials were aired on KWQC through a mini-CVB grant. Work is underway to update current commercials and to create new commercials to potentially air in the St. Louis cable market. E-newsletter is sent at least monthly to Muscatine hospitality staff and those who have subscribed via the website. The list is now at 359. The intent is to communicate events and sporting activities for those entities to prepare to serve. • Cultivate and maintain relationships with visiting sports teams to ensure they have a quality visit and hopefully return Engaged organizers of sports tournaments in advance of tournaments. Use of City Funds. At the conclusion of the first nanodegree program, at the conclusion of the second nanodegree program, and at the conclusion of the third nanodegree program, no later than October 30, 2022. The Reports shall include copies of documentation for all expenditures of the funds granted pursuant to this Agreement. Such documentation may include time-keeping reports, receipts, cancelled checks, credit card statements, or other evidence acceptable to City, and must clearly document the amount and purpose of the expenditure. Expenditures which are not so documented are not eligible for funding under this Agreement.
