Common use of Use of Explosives Clause in Contracts

Use of Explosives. When the use of explosives is necessary for the prosecution of the work, the contractor shall observe all local, state, and Federal laws in purchasing and handling explosives. The contractor shall take all necessary precautions to protect completed work, neighboring property, water lines, or other underground structures. Where there is danger to structures or property from blasting, the charges shall be reduced, and the material shall be covered with suitable timber, steel, or rope mats.
