Use of PHI and PI for Management and Administration or Legal Responsibilities of Business Associate. The Business Associate may use PHI and PI received by the Covered Entity pursuant to this Agreement for the proper management and administration of the Business Associate or to carry out the legal responsibilities of the Business Associate. However, Business Associate will only be allowed to use PHI and PI for the aforementioned uses if (A) the disclosure is required by law; or (b) the Business Associate obtains reasonable assurances from the person to whom the PHI and PI is disclosed that it will be held confidentially and used or further disclosed only as required by law or for the purposes for which it was disclosed to the person, and the person notified the Business Associate of any instances in which the person is aware of a confidentiality breach of PHI or PI.
