Vacuuming. Carpet shall be free from soil and debris. The vacuumed fibers shall be cleaned to protect pile from matting (preferably using a machine with cylindrical brushing action). Effective vacuuming requires multiple, slow deliberate passes to ensure the removal of soil and dust at and/or below the carpet surface.
