Common use of Wage Rate Protection Clause in Contracts

Wage Rate Protection. Any Employee whose position is reclassified to one with a lower wage rate through no fault of their own shall receive fifty per cent (50%) of the negotiated wage rate increase applicable to the Employee’s new classification. Such Employee shall receive the full negotiated wage rate increase when the maximum wage rate of their classification equals or exceeds the wage rate which they are receiving.
