Withdrawal of Territory from Authority by Election. a. The governing body of a unit of election may order an election to withdraw the unit from the Authority. b. If a majority of the votes cast in the election favor the proposition to withdraw from the regional district, the governing body of the unit of election shall certify to the board the result of the election and the effective date of the withdrawal.
