Common use of Women- and Minority-Owned Businesses Clause in Contracts

Women- and Minority-Owned Businesses. The SUBRECIPIENT will make every effort to afford women-owned and minority-owned business enterprises the maximum practical opportunity to participate in the performance of this Agreement. As used in this Agreement, the term "minority-owned and “women-owned business enterprise" means a business at least fifty-one percent (51%) owned and controlled by minority group members or women. The SUBRECIPIENT may rely on written representations by subcontractors regarding their status as minority and women-owned business enterprises in lieu of an independent investigation.
