WORK HOURS/CONDITIONS. 1. Employees hired by the Administration shall be considered hired for one (1) school year term only (the school year in which the employee commences work). The decision of the Administration as to whether to reappoint the employee each school year shall be at the sole discretion of the Administration and the decision thereon shall not be subject to the grievance provisions of the Agreement. Any employee may ask for a review from the Superintendent of Schools based on his/her history of evaluations and ability to create positive outcomes for students. The Superintendent may call a meeting for the employee and the bargaining unit elected president to review the decision.
2. The Superintendent of Schools, or his/her designee, will inform employees covered by this agreement and after the conclusion of the evaluation cycle by June 1st of whether they will be re-appointed for the next school year, or otherwise at the earliest possible date thereafter. In agreeing to the aforementioned notice requirement, the administration does not waive or otherwise concede its right to engage in a reduction in force at any time due to budgetary constraints or the restructuring of the educational program. Notification for specific assignments to those being re-appointed shall, to the extent known by June 30th, include the location and the hours. The above rights are reserved exclusively as prerogatives to the administration, subject only to such limitations as are expressly prescribed for in this agreement.
3. By May 25th of each year, prior to notification of employees, and to the extent such information is known, the Superintendent will notify the Association President/designee of any Unit D employee who will not be rehired for the following school year.
4. Paraeducators will work the days and hours as required and authorized by the Administration.
5. In the case of a delayed opening or an early emergency dismissal (other than for an early release or professional development days) the employees will be paid for a normal work day. In addition, in the case of midterm or final examinations, employees will be paid a normal work day. It is understood that employees must remain on site during midterm or final examinations.

WORK HOURS/CONDITIONS. Section 5.1.1 The basic workweek shall consist of five (5) consecutive days followed by two (2) days of rest. For payroll purposes, the workweek shall be Sunday through Saturday.
