Xxxxxxxxx Steps Step I. Within ten (10) working days* of the time an alleged grievance arises, the employee or BEA representative will present a signed written statement of the grievance to that employee’s principal. Within ten (10) working days after the presentation of the statement of the grievance, the principal's written response shall be given to the employee. *For purposes of this Article, a working day during the school year is defined as any day in which school is in session. A working day during summer months is defined as Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Step II: If the grievance is not resolved at Step I, the employee or BEA representative may, within ten (10) working days of the receipt of the principal's answer, submit to the Superintendent, or his/her designee, a signed written "Statement of Grievance". A copy shall be given to the principal involved. The "Statement of Grievance" shall name the employee involved, state the facts giving rise to the grievance, identify all the provisions of this Agreement alleged to be violated by appropriate reference, state the contention of the employee and the Association with respect to these provisions, indicate the relief requested and be signed by the employee and/or the Association.
