For a maximum of two years, the tenant may temporarily assign the apartment to another person’s use, if the tenant is staying in another city due to work, studies, illness or other similar reason and the landlord has no justified reason to object to the temporary assigning. The tenant must notify the landlord in writing no later than one month before temporarily assigning the apartment for another person. (AHVL 1995/481 18 §)
