This Agreement will provide insight into Kepler's services and will better prepare NASA for a future operational service acquisition. Kepler's combination of S-band and optical services with polar coverage compliments the set of existing Funded Space Act Agreements managed by the CSP project. Demonstrating commercial S-Band services will reduce risk for the NASA mission community, reducing risk for early adopter missions who already use S-band for tracking, telemetry, and control (TT&C) services. Additionally, NASA will provide information about future mission needs, and facilitating engagements between Kepler and the NASA mission community, including exploring opportunities to demonstrate Kepler's S-band and optical services. The information and engagement opportunities will aid Kepler in determining if there is a suitable market and business case to provide these services in the future.
