Through the years, the City Commission, in partnership with an active and engaged constituency, has worked to preserve open space for the use and enjoyment of Dunedin’s present and future residents. The subject site, known as the Gladys Douglas property, combined with the use of Jerry Lake presents a unique opportunity to acquire almost 100 acres of passive recreation in Pinellas County. The Gladys Douglas property is the single largest remaining undeveloped parcel in the Dunedin planning area that is privately held. The location of the property is the northeast corner of Virginia Avenue and Keene Road. The owners of record are Highland Memorial Gardens (C/O Gladys Douglas) Gladys E. Douglas and Ann E. Whitley.
