COMPUTER USE / INTERNET ACCESS POLICY

Public access computers (for both adults and children) are available at no charge during regular library hours on a first-come basis. Computer users must have a staff member scan their library card, verify that they have a signed Internet agreement, and check out a computer. Library-owned laptop computers must be used inside the library. Only patrons in good standing to check out materials will be allowed to use computers, except that visitors will be allowed to use a guest account on a temporary basis. Users of Internet-capable computers must check out the computer on their own card. Although computers may be activated for a longer initial period, patrons may be asked to give up their computers after 30 minutes of use if another patron is waiting. Patrons may also be asked to relinquish their computers if they use excessive bandwidth which slows down Internet service for everyone.
