This coastal concordat is an agreement between the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG), the Department for Transport (DfT), the Marine Management Organisation (MMO), the Environment Agency (EA), Natural England (NE) and the Local Government Association (LGA). It sets out the principles according to which the signatories propose to work with Local Planning Authorities1 (LPA) to enable sustainable growth in the coastal zone.
