This Agreement shall be for the purpose of enabling NASA GRC and Boeing to establish a collaboration to develop significantly improved extreme environment dispersion strengthened materials for a broad range of advanced aeronautic propulsion and space launch structural applications. Both entities will combine in-house processing and advanced characterization capabilities to explore a new and rapidly growing alloy design space. This endeavor will benefit NASA GRC because it will provide an accelerated path for infusing NASA GRC technology into commercial processes, allow NASA GRC to collaborate on specific component development activities, and give NASA GRC access to processing capabilities that are not currently available to it. This collaboration will benefit Boeing because Boeing will receive numerous powders coated using a NASA GRC-patented process as well as access to NASA’s alloy design insights.
