Contract Type FiledNovember 30th, 2010The following is a list of peace agreements signed after the adoption of UNSC 1325 that make reference to women. Provisions making explicit reference to ‘women’ were included. In addition, any reference to ‘gender’, as in ‘gender balance’ or ‘gender sensitivity’ or ‘gender-based violence’ was also coded. Specific references to ‘widows’ or ‘girls’ and to ‘sexual violence’, or named forms of sexual violence such as ‘rape’, were also coded as references to women. Where peace agreements included reference to international legal instruments that specifically address women, for example CEDAW and the 1957 Convention on the Nationality of Married Women, this too was recorded.
