Parent/District Agreement to Modify the IEP Without Convening an IEP Team MeetingSeptember 16th, 2010
FiledSeptember 16th, 2010IDEA ’04 (34CFR 300.324) allows for amendments to be made to a student’s IEP after the annual IEP Team meeting for a school year when the parent and the District agree not to convene an IEP Team meeting for the purposes of making those changes. Instead, if the District and the parent agree, changes may be made to the IEP by amending the IEP rather than by redrafting the entire IEP. Changes to the IEP may only be made without a meeting if there are clerical changes that do not change a student’s free, appropriate public education (FAPE), such as the recalculation of service time due to a clerical error.
