Social media is a tool that can be used to communicate with teammates, fans, friends, coaches, and more. Every picture, link, quote, tweet, status, or post that you or your friends put online or liked is forever part of you digital footprint. Social media can hinder your ability to be recruited, find a job, and damage relationships when not operated responsibly. As an athlete at Calera High School, I am aware that it’s my responsibility to represent my school, family, team, and community in a positive manner. I will post only positive things regarding my teammates, coaches, and opponents, and officials. I will not degrade my opponents and will ignore any negative post about myself. I take responsibility for my online profile, including my post and any photos, videos, or other recordings posted by others in which I appear.
