The STI guarantees the owners, founders or significant stakeholders of start-up companies fi- nancial support in the form of long-term, interest-free loans to realise projects that serve to de- velop the company. Support is given in particular to promising technological innovations that are developed in collaboration with the EIT (Department of Engineering and Information Technolo- gy) or the AWCE (Department of Architecture, Wood and Civil Engineering) at the Bern Univer- sity of Applied Sciences (BFH) and the UniBE (University of Bern).
