Contract Type FiledJune 24th, 2024This effort seeks to conduct a pilot test/using METAseismic proprietary metamaterial pads to protect a NASA flight termination system battery from an SLS Booster (50 lbs). METAseismic will use its patented damping pad made of custom metamaterial that is tailored to a specific set of launch vehicle environments. NASA will receive these samples to install on the battery test article and will use MSFC test facilities at the vibration lab in bldg 4619 to vibrate the battery to the specified environments. NASA will compare the data from the test to results from an undamped battery that was previously tested in the same facility to the same environments. The NASA goal is to evaluate a new piece of technology that could benefit existing and future space flight missions by lowering the mass and size of damping equipment. METAseismic's primary objective is to receive test data that will either lead to product improvement or validate their design and analysis. This data will give METAseismic pub
