Pursuant to the provisions of the Employee Relations Ordinance of the City of Los Angeles and applicable State law, the Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Officers Association (Association) was certified on February 17, 1977, by the Employee Relations Board as the majority representative of the City employees in the Fire Chief Officers Unit (Unit), previously found to be appropriate by the Employee Relations Board. The City of Los Angeles hereby recognizes the Association as the exclusive representative of the employees in said Unit, subject to the right of an employee to represent himself/herself. The term "employee," "employees," or "Chief Officer” as used herein shall refer only to employees in the classifications listed in Appendix A, as well as such classes as may be added to the Unit by the Employee Relations Board.
