FiledJanuary 11th, 2024Description of Service: Southern Conn. State University will be providing CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) training to 40 high school students from different high schools. The high school students will learn the basics of patient care, hygiene, nutrition, basic medical terminology, and safety. In addition, part of the program is dedicated to hands-on training, where students learn patient assessment, communication skills, and medical procedures by practicing on medical mannequins in a classroom setting or caring for actual patients under the supervision of a licensed professional nurse. At the end of the program, students will receive a CNA certificate which will allow them to work as a certified nurse assistant.
