INVESTMENT ADVISORY AND SERVICE AGREEMENT THIS AGREEMENT, dated and effective as of the 2nd day of October, 1989 is made and entered into by and between THE TAX-EXEMPT MONEY FUND OF AMERICA, a Massachusetts business trust, (hereinafter called the "Fund"), and CAPITAL RESEARCH AND MANAGEMENT COMPANY, a Delaware corporation, (hereinafter called the "Investment Adviser").
