This Umbrella Agreement (hereinafter referred to as the "Agreement" or "Umbrella Agreement") shall be for the purpose of evaluating different design and modeling methods for use with Acoustic Liner Technology. Acoustic liners are typically mounted within the walls of aircraft engine nacelle to absorb turbofan engine fan noise. The character of this sound field changes as the engine nacelle geometry evolves (e.g., shorter inlet, larger diameter). The goal of this umbrella agreement is to develop approaches that use acoustic liners in an optimal sense to enable quieter aircraft.
