The Illinois Office of the Comptroller operates a system for the collection of debt owed to the State of Illinois by persons receiving payments from the State. Municipalities may utilize this system for collecting debt owed to them by entering into an intergovernmental agreement with the Illinois Office of the Comptroller. An intergovernmental agreement was previously approved by Council at the March 4th, 2013 City Council meeting.
