Contract Type FiledMay 13th, 2019The Executive Board of the Suffolk County Association of Municipal Employees (AME) announced the union’s first long-term contract in decades, ending years of short-term contracts which left members falling further behind. The historic 8-year agreement, extending through 2024, provides raises to workers each year for the remainder of the contract, along with additional protections for AME members, including changing the governing structure of the Benefit Fund to make it more responsive to members, increases in longevity payments, and a new Standby Pool to compensate essential employees for time spent “on call.”
