As stated in the Agenda Request Form (ARF), The School Board of Broward County, Florida (SBBC) approved the construction of a pool facility at Sunrise Middle School on November 15, 1991. The School District’s records indicate that the cost to install the pool was $699,800; and of this total, the City of Fort Lauderdale (CITY) committed $200,000 in grant monies to help fund the construction of the new facility.
