Contract Type FiledNovember 29th, 2023St. Dominic’s Sixth Form College was established in 1979 as a result of the restructuring of Catholic, Post 16 education, in the Archdiocese of Westminster following a review by the then Cardinal, Basil Hume. There had been education on the site in Harrow on the Hill since 1879 when an independent girls school was opened by some sisters of the Dominican Order. The school lasted for 99 years until it closed in July of 1978 following falling rolls. The sixth form that opened in 1979 had just over 250 students and served the mainly Catholic populations of the Sacred Heart Girls School and the Salvatorian College in North Harrow. The intervening 43 years has seen significant growth and changes in demography and intake locally and across Greater London, which has resulted in the College having a roll of 1400 students in the academic year 2022/23.
