FiledMay 27th, 2021Last year, the Department was awarded federal funds under the Surface Transportation Program - Suballocated (STP - S) for the resurfacing of Manchester Road /Taylor Road Resurfacing Project. The scope of the Manchester Road /Taylor Road Resurfacing Projectis to resurface and rehabilitate both roads and upgrade the City’s three (3) traffic signals located at Taylor Road / Main Street, Manchester Road / Pierside Lane and Manchester Road / Schnucks Wildwood Crossing. Our application requested $1,440,000 in federal funds to construct the project. A minimum local match of 20% of eligible costs is required. Funds for construction of the project, which is included in our 5-year capital improvement program, would be available in 2023. The limits of the project are shown below. (Please see Exhibit A).

FiledFebruary 18th, 2021The attached Ordinance and STP Program Agreement is provided to authorize the use of STP (State Transportation Program) funds for City use. Included in the CIP is a project to extend Truman Blvd. south from Heather Glenn to Pembrook Ave. at a cost of $1,913,188. This project is being constructed utilizing a portion of our federal funds allocated for use and administered through the OTO (Ozarks Transportation Organization). The program agreement between MoDOT and the City of Nixa will allow for the city to fund 80% of the project cost with federal funds totaling $1,530,550. The City will provide 20% of the funding necessary to complete the project at $382,638. Federal funds are distributed to the City as a reimbursement of costs incurred, not to exceed $1,530,550. Passage of the ordinance will allow for the City of Nixa to proceed with construction of the project as identified in the 2021 CIP.
