This service can be provided to the community at zero cost to the Residents and the City of Lockport actually receives some minor revenues. However, it could negatively impact Lockport donation locations, Lockport Resource Center or Townships, or the AmVets for example, or other firms that do make donation pickups convenient as well. Perhaps the need for the miscellaneous donation collection bins around the community might also dwindle, which would be a positive impact. The residents can donate knowing 85%-95% gets reused or recycled and most items do not end up in landfills, however it is not tax deductible. Simple Recycling is not a non-profit operation. The funds the city receives could be earmarked for any local charity.
